Fun at the Barbie!

Preparations made we all hoped we wouldn't get swept away be wind and rain. Come 4 o'clock it was looking good and the first folk began to arrive. It was a bring and share event and everyone seemed to have brought loads and we had a mountain of food to work at. We did our best to work our way through it and the BBQ chefs, Ian and Colin (Don's neighbours) were kept busy all evening.

It drizzled a bit at times, and it wasn't very warm but we didn't mind. Bob's Yurt was a good warming up place and other folk kept warm by bouncing on the trampoline, dancing to the music compiled by Bupe and the Waites, and playing games of one sort or another or just staying close to the BBQ. It was great to see members of the link again who'd been out in 2012 and 2008. It was also great to see Lyn Walby who had been involved for many years. She brought a selection of all previous Link t shirts (to be displayed again at the Ceilidh) and a photo album dating from 1990. This showed some early pictures of a previous Tanzanian leader which caused much amusement to the current Tanzanian leaders.

The party went on till after ten leaving and after a wee bit of tidying up the Allans and Mahembe retired to the house leaving Chotta and Andy to sleep in the yurt.
